everyone's recommendation has been seagate so far,. Any dissenting opinion?

@IAintShootinMis @Hal Pomeranz @Zak Kaufman :1password: The rule is that one of Seagate or Western Digital is catestrophically broken and the other is the best. Pick whichever is not broken this year.

Wasn't Western Digital just suffering massive customer data leaks, or was that just their cloud service?
