Honest and sincere idea for Mastodon and other Fedi clients: optional pagination of feeds.

I'd love to be able to specify "show me ten toots and make me click a button to show me the next ten."

The amount could be a variable. But the effect would help the mental health of a lot of folks who use these programs.

Just as an option to counter infinite scroll.

Agreed. I have come to see infinite scroll as an attention-sucking anti-pattern.

@Spencer @Veronica Explains The Friendica Web UI has this option, in part because its infinite scroll implementation is terrible like most out there. An ideal implementation has support for deep links where you can resume reading where you were even if you reload the page. Alas, I’ve only seen this important feature theorized, never practiced.
