If you are thinking about running your blogpost through an AI editor, don't! It almost always makes it more boring.

Whatever you have to say is what you had to say anyway. Just say that, you don't need more. And the mistakes are perfectly fine.

I spell check once, proofread once, then publish. When people point out errors, it makes me feel good, because it means people are reading what I write, and I correct it then.

I'd rather have your charming acoustic-performance words, even if you make mistakes! I love mistakes in writing. Rustic and cozy.

Not to be that guy, but I am actually going the other way. I'm reverting to handwriting my first draft to prevent myself from over-editing while I get my ideas out. Then in the (manual) transcription process, I can do a first editing pass. It takes longer, but the focus of handwriting is a blessing.

@mttaggart I do this too! I even bought a typewriter for my fiction writing. I find it to be really helpful for the first couple of drafts.

I wasn't ever going to use AI tools, but as a side note: As a sometimes blogger whose perfectionism is his most frequent stumbling block—due in part to being formed in the debate-me caldera of pre-Musk Twitter—I can't express how grateful I am for reminders like yours, that my work can have value even if not polished to a mirror shine.
